Substitute Positions
Substitute Teachers: Minimum of Associate's Degree or 60 college/university credits required. Rate of Pay: $122.82/day.
Building Substitute Teachers: Minimum of Bachelor's Degree required. Rate of Pay: $150/day.
Substitute Nurses: Rate of pay $40 per hour. Applicant must hold RN license, CPR: Child and Adult, First Aid, and have pediatric experience. We will arrange an orientation with our Head Nurse prior to first assignment.
Substitute Paraprofessionals: Rate of pay $16.35 per hour. Must hold minimum of Associate's Degree (or 60 college/university credits) or passing score on CT ParaPathways (formerly ParaPro) exam.
Fingerprinting/criminal records and DCF background check required for all positions.
Permanent Support Positions
Secretary & Custodial/Maintenance Positions: These positions are hired through a testing process administered by the City of Shelton Human Resources Department. Applications to take the Merit exam may be obtained by phoning 203-924-1555, ext. 1310 or by downloading the City of Shelton Employment Application. Candidates must also complete an application on Applitrack.
Bus Driver & Monitor Positions
Bus transportation for Shelton Public Schools is managed by Shelton Student Transportation Services, a department operated by the City of Shelton.
