Special Education Services
The Shelton Public School System offers students a continuum of services and support through the implementation of responsible inclusive and individualized practices based on student needs. Across all schools, you will find dedicated professionals including certified Special Education Teachers, School Psychologists, School Counselors, Speech and Language Pathologists, Nurses, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, and Paraprofessionals. Each school has access to the support of a Board Certified Behavior Analysts and Assistive Technology Support.
Specialized services are developed through the Planning and Placement Team, which includes the Student from age 14 through graduation, the Family/Guardian, Administration, a Special Education Teacher, a General Education Teacher, any Related Service Providers working with the student, and the Paraprofessional.
